Do pages 8 and 9 in the family packet. Be sure to read the directions! That sounds obvious, but lots of you seem to skip that basic step. Be sure to read all the explanations, in fact.
Bonne journée ! Do pages 6 and 7 of the packet about your family.
Finish the rough draft of your writing about your family member. It should have: an introduction with the person's name, at least three physical descriptions, at least three descriptions of his or her personality, a few things that he or she likes to do, and some things that he or she does not like to do. DON'T USE ONLINE TRANSLATORS! You may use Word.Reference.com or a paper dictionary. Try to keep your sentences simple, so you are not having to use the past tense or anything we haven't really learned yet. Bonne journée ! Gather facts on one family to write about tomorrow: age, description of appearance (hair, eyes, height, etc.) and personality (temperament, intelligence, style, etc.), three things he or she likes to do and three things he or she doesn't like to do. Ask this person these questions tonight (or ask someone who knew that person well) and be ready to write it up tomorrow in class. You can have the individual words you need in French already, but don't translate entire sentences in advance. (Google is not your friend in this case!)
Bonne journé Draw your family tree on a piece of construction paper. Show at least three generations (you, parents, grandparents), but the more family members you can add, the merrier. Please label every person with his or her relationship to you using the French noun and the appropriate possessive adjective: ma mère, mon père, ma sœur, mon frère, mon oncle, ma tante, etc. You may also include their real names if you want. Please add some pictures, either photos or drawings, and some color to make it look nice. I will be grading these based on your effort and the accuracy of the content. Feel free to be creative!
Other than that, have a lovely week off and don't stay up too late every night. Get some rest, so you'll be relaxed and ready when we return for our last few weeks of the semester. Enjoy your family time, and have a happy Thanksgiving! Bonnes vacances ! Finish the vocabulary and verb worksheets that we started in class. Review these pages and the textbook for the chapter 4 test tomorrow!
Bonne journée ! On the verb form that I gave you, conjugate the following verbs for all six subjects: avoir, finir, aller, parler, être, and faire.
The chapter 4 test is coming soon, so review the vocabulary for school words and the chapter itself (how to tell time, etc.). Bonne journée ! Read the explanation on page 118 of the textbook on how to tell time down to the exact minute in French. Then, do exercises 4 and 5 on page 119. Write your answers in complete sentences in the homework section of your notebook.
If you ask me a question in the comments section below, I will give you a cookie tomorrow. Bonne journée ! Read pages 112-114 in the textbook about high school in France. Then, do exercises 10 and 11 on page 115. Both the text and the questions are in English, so this should be pretty easy for you. Write your answers in complete sentences in the fourth section of your notebook (les devoirs).
Bonne journée ! Finish the "where" (où) packet, pages 68-71.
Have a nice, restful weekend and come back ready to go next week! Bon weekend ! |
